AYURVEDA

The Mantra of Niramaya

Ayurveda is a more than 5,000 years old comprehensive Indian system of medicine based on a holistic approach rooted in Vedic culture. The term Ayurveda is taken from the Sanskrit words ayus, meaning life or lifespan, and veda, meaning knowledge thus meaning The Knowledge of life or Life Science. This holistic science contains the knowledge of complete balance of the Body, Mind and Spirit. Ayurveda says that the bodily health is determined by three biological principles, called 3 Doshas: Vata, which regulates movement; Pitta, which regulates metabolism; and Kapha, which regulates structure. The Treatment uses heated oils and herbs to trigger the body's natural healing processes, increase metabolism, enhance the immune system, soften the skin and bring deep relaxation and peace of mind.

The Body Mystique

The mystique of human body has intrigued both epicureans and philosophers for ages. In Ayurveda the body is considered to be a blend of the five basic elements: sky, water, earth, air and fire. When these are in perfect equilibrium, the body houses the universal consciousness and echoes the harmony of nature. It is regulated by the three bio-regulating principles – the Tridoshas - which when in equilibrium are called Tridhatus. The five elements which compose the human body are combined in such a way as to form the three humors which control all the process of health and disease.

It is by correcting this imbalance and restoring complete equilibrium to the body that diseases can be cured. Medicines derived from rare herbs are used to achieve this. To rejuvenate litterlly means ‘to make young again’. In Ayurveda, rejuvenation or Rasayana Chikitsa is the golden way to attain longevity.
